I love vintage clothes, and i'm going to a party and would like to find a nice dress to wear. prefferably, i'd love like a flapper girl dress or soemthing like it as i love fringes and those hats with the net veils and just eclectic clothes but i need a website that sells dresses and jewellery and accesories like the ones i've described, anybody know of any?

I really need some 60s inspired clothing?

I've checked practically every vintage site and the clothes are either tasteless or dear. I've checked on ebay too and nothing attracts me. I'm looking for some hippie/psychedelic styles and some mod dresses and skirts. Does anyone know a website that does have nice clothes on with reasonable prices? It doesn't need to be vintage but just inspired 60s clothing. Or does anyone know any good shops in the north of England that sells good 60s fashion?

Preferably for dresses; Or just anything in the '50s and '60s. And places where you feel comfortable, because I have gotten annoyed looks when I have walked into stores, such as Plato's Closet, not wearing Abercrombie/Hollister/American Eagle, and I felt awkward and out of place. Thanks!

I'm going to Brighton in a few weeks time and would love to visit Beyond Retro because I love vintage clothing and it sounds brilliant! I was just wondering what the prices are like in there. I love 50s and 60s day dresses so what price range would they be in? I am on a budget so I don't want to be spending a fortune on a nice dress!

Also, are there any other good vintage shops in Brighton?

Washing vintage clothing?

What do you do if you know nothing about fabric?
Dry cleaners or handwash? I handwash all my vintage stockings and lingerie. But with the outfits, dry cleaning is getting expensive, can the detergents mess up the clothes, what do you do?
p.s all the clothes are from around the 40s/50s (I don't mind sending the suits for dry cleaning as I don't wear them often, but I like to wear the dresses). It's just a friend of mine washed a beauuuutiful dress on handwash setting and it faded like hell.
Do you think steam cleaning will work?

I saw tyra banks show and she showed fashions from resale stores that really looked good. I'm talking about 2.99 name brand dresses that looked expensive. I live on the south side so I do not want to trave too far. I appreciate all responses.

Vintage clothing in a size 16?

I really love vintage eclectic style, and seeing as I'm on a students budget I'm thinking about vintage. I don't like buying clothes online as I prefer to try them on, and I live in Kent so a train to London is only around £6 and 40 minutes journey. The thing is I'm a size 16. I'm thinking most vintage shops don't do that much stuff in that size?

Also what are typical prices for things like dresses? I mean is it going to be £40 for a nice dress, or cheaper?

Any advice on styles and things to put together? I'm sick of buying all my clothes from New Look and Dorothy Perkins and being safe and ending up wearing the same thing as everyone else. I've decided I want to get some really stylish stuff.
